In collaboration with the Owners, Perkins Builders developed an overall scheme to refurbish and redevelop the Bunbury Plaza Shopping Centre; one of the oldest shopping centres in Western Australia. This project involved the refurbishment and location of eight existing tenancies all whilst allowing the tenants to continue trading, the demolition of the existing Woolworths Store to make way for the construction of a new, larger 3800m2 Woolworths tenancy and the increase and remodelling of the associated parking areas.

This Design and Construct project was on a tight time frame with the overall project, including design, all completed in less than a year. The project was broken down into a multi-stage nature based upon the  progressive handover of tenancies and carparks as they became available so as to minimize disruption to tenant’s business and provide suitable safe access to the public around the site and areas of work.

This project was awarded Commercial Alterations & Additions Over $6million at the 2017 Master Builders – Bankwest South West Building Excellence Awards.
