Practical Completion at Coles Dalyellup

With practical completion reached, and the building handed over to our valued client, Coles Group Property Developments, the news Coles Dalyellup store is officially open!

Perkins Builders are proud to have completed the design and construction of the newest Coles development, which includes the Coles store (with direct to boot pick up), Liquorland and Subway tenancies, providing fantastic new amenities for local residents.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in the construction of the project, all our valued subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and of course the Perkins Team.

The outstanding result would not have been possible without the truly collaborative effort of all.

Works underway at Bunbury Regional Hospital

Construction is officially underway for the redevelopment of Bunbury Regional Hospital, the largest health infrastructure investment in regional WA.

Together with our joint venture partner @Multiplex, our project team was delighted to welcome Premier Roger Cook to mark this major project milestone, as ground works commence for the seven-storey clinical tower, topped with a helipad.

Upon completion, Bunbury Regional Hospital will be the biggest in regional WA and one of the most modern regional hospitals in Australia. The redevelopment includes a new and expanded maternity, birthing and neonatal services, additional ICU and medical beds, new mental health facilities, increased surgical capacity, plus a helipad with direct lift access to operating theatres.

The redevelopment will also deliver the first regional training, education and research centre in regional WA, helping to attract and retain clinical talent in the South West.

We’re proud to be part of the team completing such a fantastic facility for our local community.

Stirling Towers Sod Turning

Perkins to Deliver 109 New Homes in Transformational Stirling Towers Redevelopment

Perkins Builders, in partnership with the Western Australian Government, Tetris Capital  and Community Housing Limited (CHL), is proud to announce the redevelopment of the former Stirling Towers site in Highgate—bringing 109 much-needed new homes to the community through an innovative public-private partnership (PPP).

The redevelopment will transform the vacant site into a vibrant, inclusive residential community with a focus on long-term social and affordable housing outcomes.

Project Snapshot:

  • 109 new apartments in one- and two-bedroom configurations
  • 78 social housing units and 22 affordable housing units
  • 9 apartments designed to NDIS standards, including High Physical Support, Improved Liveability, and On-site Overnight Assistance units
  • Single ownership Build-to-Rent model – no strata title, ensuring unified management and long-term affordability

The development will be delivered under a 52-year ground lease model, following construction completion. The Department of Housing and Works retains land ownership, while Tetris Capital leads the development, financing, and asset management. CHL will serve as the housing operator and service provider, ensuring high-quality tenancy and asset management across the life of the lease.

Construction is set to commence this month and is expected to be completed in Q4 2027.

Senior Management Changes

Perkins Builders are excited to announce changes to our Senior Management Team.

Congratulations to Paul Taccagni MRICS on moving into the role of Group General Manager – Commercial and Risk. Paul has been with the Perkins Group for close to 10 years and we look forward to his continued guidance and support as he oversees management of our Perth operations, whilst continuing to manage the commercial and risk profile of the Perkins Group.

We’d like to officially welcome Mike Harvey to the Perkins team in the role of Operations Manager – Perth Metro. Mike’s extensive experience within the Perth commercial construction market is great asset and we look forward the positive impact he will make as he manages our Perth operations.

Lastly, Greg Rowe will step back from his role of Group Asset Manager for Perkins Builders and transition across to working within Perkins Holdings. We thank Greg for his hard work and dedication and look forward to his continued service as he embraces his new role.

We’re confident that these changes will allow us to continue delivering projects with the confidence, quality and pride Perkins Builders is known for.

Bunbury Hospital Redevelopment Industry Briefing

Multiplex and Perkins Builders have formed an unincorporated Joint Venture to harness their respective strengths of delivering large scale complex construction projects in a regional environment.

The State Government’s $451.1 million redevelopment of Bunbury Regional Hospital will transform the facility into one of the most modern hospitals in regional Australia.

When complete, Bunbury Regional Hospital will be the biggest in country WA, reflecting its role as an important community healthcare hub for the South West region.

Local subcontractors and suppliers are invited to join the Multiplex Perkins Builders Joint Venture team for an informal industry information briefing on the Bunbury Hospital Redevelopment to understand the potential opportunities on the project.

MBA Excellence in Construction Awards

Perkins Builders are proud to announce our success at the Master Builders Associated of Western Australia Commonwealth Bank Excelelnce in Construction Awards for 2024, held at Crown Perth on 20th July.

Our Catholic Homes Belmont – Sister Mary Glowery project took out the prize for the best Aged Care Building in the $20 million to $50 Million dollar category. It is great to see that everyone’s exceptional efforts, dedication and hard work during the planning, design and delivery of the project has been recognized. This is a true demonstration of the attention to detail, collaboration with stakeholders and perseverance through some very challenging times during construction have led to a great outcome. Thank you to our client Catholic Homes – Western Australia, T&Z Architects and everyone involved in the project.

The Armadale Courthouse and Police Complex project was also recoginsed as Best Government Building $50 million to $100 million. This project brings together the Police and Courthouse functions into the one facility, providing significant improvements and efficiencies for both the WA Police Force and the Department of Justice. Successfully navigating the construction of this project during the pandemic, and its flow on effects, is testament to the hard work and dedication to everyone involved.

Congratulations to Rob Stanford on reaching his 20 Years of Service on 31st May. Rob has been an integral part of the Perkins Builders estimating team over this time.

Rob has an approachable and friendly nature and is always up for a bit of footy banter (especially about his favourite team, the Fremantle Dockers). His hard work and dedication to maintaining relationships with key subcontractors and assistance in developing estimating systems and practices is invaluable to the business.

Bunbury Regional Hospital Redevelopment

Perkins Builders and Multiplex have formed a 50/50 Joint Venture to harness their respective strengths of delivering large scale complex construction projects in a regional environment.

The State Government announced the Joint Venture as the successful contractor to design and deliver the Bunbury Regional Hospital redevelopment which will transform the site into one of the most modern facilities in regional Australia.

The redevelopment represents the largest upgrade of a regional hospital in Western Australia’s history. The design phase will start immediately, with early works commencing in mid-2025.

The intent is to provide relevant opportunities to local subcontractors and suppliers during the construction phase of the works.
