Anderson Neurological & Development Services

  • Anderson Neurological & Development Services

This project involved the transformation of a 50year old building into a new state of the art consultation and rehabilitation facility for people with Neurological and physical disabilities. In the rebuild we incorporated the following key elements –

  • An indoor hydrotherapy pool with disabled hoists and adult change facilities for disabled people.
  • Provision for a future Swimex performance training pool.
  • Consulting and training areas covering various facets of the Neurological spectrum.
  • Administration areas.
  • A short stay accommodation component for clientele.
  • Numerous disability and statutory compliance upgrades, including lifts, stairs, fire compartments and services infrastructure.

The project delivery was split into two separable portions; consulting areas and pool, training and accommodation areas. This allowed our client to commence trade as soon as possible whilst the pool, training and accommodation areas are still being completed.

A high level of technical interface between the old and new parts of the building, along with the complexity of building a hydrotherapy pool in a tight space presented possible challenges. In conjunction with our valued consultants and contractors Aquatic One and Commercial Aquatics Australia, the team had a clear defined path manage the risks.
